GREETINGS FROM CULTURAL ACADEMY FOR PEACE!
As you are aware, we celebrate World Women’s Day every year on 8th March. This is an occasion to commemorate Women’s long struggle to achieve, justice, equality, peace and to continue the struggle with new vigor. This Day is being celebrated around the world by Women’s Organizations with many programmes and activities.
This year Cultural Academy for Peace is organizing a week programme, in association with Indian Council of Social Welfare, Nehru Yuva Kendra,St. Teresas College and Rajigiri College of Social Sciences, Ernakulam from 8th to 12th Mar 2010 with the theme “Equal Rights and Equal Opportunities-Progress for All”.
On the 12th Mar, 2010 there will be a Public Meeting and a seminar on “Political Empowerment(in the context of 50% reservation) and Matrimonial Property Rights of Women.” at St Teresas college auditorium, Ernakulam.
Followed by this their will be an exhibition by putting up posters on different Women Issues and Policies, at the Children’s Park sides, Ernakulam.Sri Dominic Presentation MLA, Justice Smt. Usha Sukumaran, Former Chief Justice Kerala High Court, Sr Christabelle, Principal St. Teresas College Ernakulam and Ms Molly A.V, District Coordinator Nehru Yuva Kendra,Ernakulam are the following dignitaries who would be enriching the programme by their presence.
We request your esteemed presence on this occasion. Activists and representatives of various organizations from the district will take part in this function. Students from various colleges will be putting up Street Theatres and mime.
Your cooperation will be appreciable to strengthen our effort to address the rights of women and to build a Gender Just Society.
